The Japanese Garden

August 18, 2017

Nothing says relaxing like taking a leisurely stroll through a garden. The Japanese Garden in Van Nuys, California was an especially pretty stroll. The botanical garden contains waterfalls, ponds, statues, and many green plants. There was even a peaceful authentic tea house that had a beautiful view of the pond. This was my first Japanese garden in Los Angeles that I’ve been to and I really enjoyed it. I almost forgot that I was in Los Angeles since it was so quiet and serene in The Japanese Garden. You can see the entire garden within an hour since it is not too big. It was over 100 degrees when I was there and there is little shade in the garden so it is best to visit on a cooler day. These scenes may even look familiar since Star Trek: The Next Generation filmed here!

Outfit of the Day

I wore this cute cotton striped dress from Urban Outfitters. I’m starting to see more clothing with ruffle sleeves; I predict this to be one of Fall 2017’s big trends. I was also drawn to the off shoulder detail of the dress. My black watch is from Costco and my gray lace-up flats are from Target. The necklace I’m wearing is the Phases of the Moon Necklace by Mr. Kate and can be foundĀ here.
